David Hicks
Today was the first time we've seen Australian David Hicks talk about his time training as a terrorist and his life in Guantanomo Bay prison. While most people don't deny prison was terrible for him, many people here don't believe he was innocent of training with terrorists. The footage can be viewed here http://7pmproject.com.au/video.htm?movideo_p=39696&movideo_m=126710 starting at 1:52. The part where he denies everything is not long. He seems different from when he speaks about what he did or did not do to when he talks about prison. I'm sure most of Australia would like to know. People have lost friendships over this divisive issue.

Hello again - 10:32 in the second part of the documentary is interesting, he's denying he knew Al Quaida ran the military camps he attended. The camera angle has changed and he nods (listening) before speaking.

I can't find an alternative version for you to watch in the US but there are other videos of him speaking about the experiences. Here he is on Australian Story, a documentary program. It seems quite scripted to me and the sound/video does not seem to be sync'd correctly so I'm not sure if it will be that usable for you.

7:22 denies a deep understanding of islam
11:08-11:15 looks down when saying the Army would not interview him
13:16 when he says "they were very accommodating" and implying it was good, he's shaking his head - that to me is a contradiction.
14:34 looking down and feeling again...There are three other parts to the documentary, in total about an hour long.
I'm interested to hear your thoughts as well.
