Daniel Schuler
Schuler's wife Diane killed herself and seven others, including her daughter and three young nieces, in a horrific wrong-way crash on the Taconic Parkway last month. Recently released toxicology reports suggest that Diane was drunk and high at the time of the crash. Her husband Daniel insists that she was not a substance abuser (6:18) and that the accident must have been caused by an underlying medical condition, although she was behaving normally when she departed. He also states that they had no marital problems (12:10). Does he really believe what he is saying? The husband begins answering questions at 4:15 on the video.
He seems to be convinced she didn’t drink, but I agree, there is no discussion about pot—which seems they might have done. They don’t want to talk about it nor do they deny it.
But there is a chance she was a closet alcoholic—maybe even due to the escalating pain she had from that abscess. Pain makes people do weird things. My college roommate swallowed a whole bottle of aspirin with a toothache and then realized what she did afterward and woke me up. She started trembling and losing it. I about died!

I didn't even see this yet, but just want to point out that in EVERY article I've read, I read him making statements that she wasn't an "alcoholic." Let me ask you, if you don't normally use DRUGS, wouldn't THAT be the thing you were most shocked about? Never once have I heard she didn't smoke pot. Maybe this video says it, but it is clearly lacking from every other news source I've seen.
