I feel for this woman. She needs help.

On this, I personally believe that people who are driven to tan have a deficiency in how they process vitamin D and A, and it drives them to do this. She has to see how sick she looks, but can't stop it. I only say that because I crave the sun, and feel the drive is something I have to fight consciously, though I will never go into a tanning salon. My body has a need for sun like some people crave alcohol. I say that is all seriously.

I don't see any outright signs of deception by the mom--i.e. clues in her behavior, but she loves to tan, could have easily brought her daughter in the booth, and let her lay there for a few minutes to see "how good it feels" -- I could see the mom saying this, and the little girl could have burned. The fact that the salon says she is innocent, and then revokes her membership doesn't bode well that they are being honest!!! I suspect the mom isn't being truthful, but didn't actively tan her daughter regularly. She may have just let her try it, not knowing the law, or not worried she get in trouble. It's just speculation, but what I feel. I think she just made a bad decision.
