Marjo-Riikka Makela, popular Hollywood acting coach
Marjo-Riikka Makela is a very popular acting coach in Hollywood and teaches the famous Chekhov method. She explains the method in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2C9fAxtdbFc
A lot of Hollywood newcomers flood to her studio, where she says they will gain the confidence and skills they need to reach their dreams.
I can't shake the feeling that she doesn't believe a word she says, in this or her other videos. Am I way off? What is going on here?

I have been to many of her classes. I don't know why you got that impression. She definitely believes what she says and is very enthusiastic, attentive, and kind to her students, both in and out of class. She is also very good at getting positive, lasting results in her students' acting while creating a safe space for them to work in. If you ever meet her, this will become very obvious to you. It is almost impossible not to like her.
On a side note, of any acting teacher you meet, she will almost certainly be, by far, the most gifted as an actor.

Hi Chris
My assistant brought to my attention your comment here.
Thank you for your feedback for my video. I would love to discus this further with you.
:)
Are you an actor? Are you familiar with the Michael Chekhov technique?
Are you interested of learning more about it and about the art of acting? Then about your comments: I do believe everything I say in my videos and that being said I am absolutely open for improving my English expression so that everyone can understand me, so thank you for your feedback!
:o)It is true that I teach many actors, though these days I unfortunately don't have time to teach new comers so much as my cliente mostly consists of already working actors. My class size is very limited because I want to be able to give individual attention to my each of my actors.
I would like to point out that I have never promised (or said to) an actor that I will make their dreams come through. All I can promise is my undivided attention and commitment to work as hard as the individual is willing to commit to their craft and career.Let me know if I can anyhow help you to understand the videos & the Michael Chekhov technique better!
Warmly
Marjo-Riikka Makela

Maybe her mannerisms are putting you off? It's a pretty genuine European thing, but might look strange the first time you see it.

I only watched a little bit, but she shows enthusiasm for what she is saying-- fast rate of speech, flowing of words, positive expression...
