Bob Harrod's Daughter
Dear Eyes For Lies,
I'm a great admirer of your work, and would so appreciate it if you could take a look at a video that has me hypnotised each time I watch it, though I can't pinpoint exactly why. I'm afraid I wouldn't make it as even a wizard's bumbling apprentice - though I'd love to be.
I know you don't cover cold cases, but as this about Bob Harrod, whose case is about to air nationwide on ID TV's 'Disappeared', I thought I'd chance my luck. Dear Bob's case is bound to be at least a little hot once the show airs on Thursday, April 4th, 2013, 8pm and 11pm PT/ET.

Bob Harrod was an eighty-one-year old newlywed millionaire, who had just wed his childhood sweetheart from 60 years before. He disappeared from his Placentia, California home two days before his new wife was due to return from a trip back home to Missouri, and just before he could add her to his accounts as he intended. Bob's son-in-law was working in Bob's home that day, but the time Bob disappeared is unknown. This was in 2009.
The video shows son-in-law's wife (Bob Harrod's youngest daughter, Julie Michaels) on the morning after Bob's disappearance. She had travelled to the home to change the sheets on Bob's bed, and agreed to a spur of the moment interview. Here it is - the daughter's interview starts around 0:57 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RSV7Lhqqus
Many thanks in advance for a brilliant site, even if you are not able to look at the video,

Please read responses. Thank you.

The daughters did it. I have seen, first-hand how greed comes out of the woodwork when a parent dies (in my case, three parents). Afterwards, everyone carries on as if the ugly monster inside themselves never appeared. The daughters did it. Clearly.

The daughters did it. It is absolutely clear when they talk. First the mi when was a gift in the first place from him and then they are demanding to see paperwork and acting entitled. He never had to make a trust for them I. The first place. They new that his new wife would get on the titles and other accounts and they wanted to stop it. But in California it doesn't matter, she was his wife. It's all half hers. California is a community property state. Anyways after reading all the comments, it's clear the daughters read them and comment themselves on here talking trash about Fontell. It makes me all the more convinced they killed their father. Those nasty nasty women will get what's coming to them one day.

The daughter Julie says she came There to change the sheets, why didn't she or one of the sisters do that the night before? They could have done that when they came to the meeting

Those daughters know EXACTLY what happened. This really bugs me. Now's about the time they can have him declared dead and get their paws on the money.

Why would his daughter need to come over to change the sheets on the same day that his maid was coming over?

Just saw this on a rerun...so very sad. It has made us aware NOT to do anything that our kids could feel would be in their best interest to ensure is not undone.....sure hope others that have lead successful lives and have any assets to be inherited learn from as well......

NOT ONE TEAR FROM ANY DAUGHTER! I'M 1000% SURE THE SON IN LAW KILLED HER! The idiot cops can't figure anything out. All they're good at is trumping up false charges on people and putting innocent people in prison. When it comes to solving a real crime. Zippo! That youngest daughter is fake as Fu%&!

I have watched this episode a few times now. Without a doubt, one of the daughters or all four of them, killed their father. Below are the clues that bother me:
1. When the daughters talk about the trust fund that their parents created for them. The absolute anger, snottyness, and greed is so obvious. This is their father yet they go to his house and demand an accounting of his own money. This is their father. They barely contained their nasty personalities when they were explaining how they felt he was irresponsible. This is a man who built a million dollar fortune from a working man's salary, I doubt he was irresponsible.
2. The maid knew immediately that the house did not feel right. What was the Son In Law doing upstairs. He was there earlier than the maid, doing repairs on the house, yet he never checked the upstairs for his father in law. Yet, when the maid showed up, he conceyed his concerns making sure to tell her Bob was missing.
3. In 10 years, Bob had never left his bed unmade. but it was unmade that morning. I think they killed him the night before and made the bed look slept in.4. When they speak about the wife, they refer to her as if she was after the Dads money. They did the same to the friend who cut his hair. This man was of sound mind. The daughters called elder care to try and force the father into stopping his friendship with the salon woman who cut his hair. They resented every single penny that he spent and did not save for them.
These are the nastiest daughters I have ever seen. There is no one else who would have harmed him. By that age, routines are engraved in stone, so he would not have come to harm by wandering off. The whole set up stinks and it angers me that the cops have not opened a murder investigation. I guess when you have money, its ok to kill your elderly parent. California should be ashamed. Bob deserved more and his daughters should be jailed.

For the love of God does it take a rocket scientist to see what has happened to this man .Or should I say (for the love of Bob's money)

I just saw this episode for the first time. What stands out in my mind is one of the daughters (I already forgot her name) simply said "his wife". But the tone she used when she said wife was so cold. I believe 100% that his daughters know exactly what happened to him.

The end result was equitable. The old hag would have stolen the old fools property and given it to her brood. Let well enough alone.

Fontelle should back off, after 60 years coming in the lives of these people, her place is not there and should go back to her family and daughter not live in a house for which she never worked for. It s not ethical what she is doing...

I know this is an old post but I thought I would comment anyway. I am really creeped out by the daughter Julie. Her interviews do not seem sincere at all. Where is the real emotion. What about the little slip when she started to say "He was" then caught herself and corrected it. ..what about the son in law going upstairs before the cleaning lady. Did he mess up the bed to make it look like the father slept there. He didn't know the maid was coming and wouldn't have known the father always made his bed. What about the daughter saying she was there to change the sheets. Wouldn't the maid do that. ..too many inconsistencies to count in what the daughters were telling police

Watching Disappered on ID, it is so obvious the daughters did it. They go to an attorney to talk about the money just a couple of days after the disappearance. How do they know he is not coming back?

At 2:07 she says "...more than anything, I want Fontelle to come home to her husband..." She is answer a question the reporter did not ask..."Why did make your father disappear?"

Obviously that daughter and son in law know more....much more and the police dropped the ball. Poor Bob I just pray he can rest in peace.

The old boy was obviously off his rocker - he probably drove off into a lake or deep stream after becoming disoriented.
