Bob Harrod's Daughter
Dear Eyes For Lies,
I'm a great admirer of your work, and would so appreciate it if you could take a look at a video that has me hypnotised each time I watch it, though I can't pinpoint exactly why. I'm afraid I wouldn't make it as even a wizard's bumbling apprentice - though I'd love to be.
I know you don't cover cold cases, but as this about Bob Harrod, whose case is about to air nationwide on ID TV's 'Disappeared', I thought I'd chance my luck. Dear Bob's case is bound to be at least a little hot once the show airs on Thursday, April 4th, 2013, 8pm and 11pm PT/ET.

Bob Harrod was an eighty-one-year old newlywed millionaire, who had just wed his childhood sweetheart from 60 years before. He disappeared from his Placentia, California home two days before his new wife was due to return from a trip back home to Missouri, and just before he could add her to his accounts as he intended. Bob's son-in-law was working in Bob's home that day, but the time Bob disappeared is unknown. This was in 2009.
The video shows son-in-law's wife (Bob Harrod's youngest daughter, Julie Michaels) on the morning after Bob's disappearance. She had travelled to the home to change the sheets on Bob's bed, and agreed to a spur of the moment interview. Here it is - the daughter's interview starts around 0:57 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RSV7Lhqqus
Many thanks in advance for a brilliant site, even if you are not able to look at the video,

My gut instinct is that one of the daughters is directly responsible for his disappearance. All of his daughters (if I recall correctly) were frequently pointing fingers at Fontelle, Bob's childhood sweetheart and new wife, which I disagree with entirely. The family is definitely strange and comes off as manipulative, jealous and greedy. How could they possibly find fault with his new wife? They do not appear to have been happy for him remarrying. And Bob had stopped all communication with his daughters because of all their complaining about how he had the family trust set up. They did not care that they were upsetting him and stressing him out. He's 81 years old and instead of allowing him to enjoy his last few years, they were like a bunch of harpies. There's also the question of the hairdresser, Josie. Bob gave her a lot of money and gifts which also infuriated the daughters. Bob was of sound mind and body, yet his daughters treated him like he was ill or not in complete control of his mental faculties. IMHO, they wished they could have proved he was not healthy so they could gain access and have control of his finances. Instead of laughing about their father being a sugar daddy and allowing him to have harmless fun with a younger woman - they made his life miserable, not out of true concern but because of selfish reasons. This story is so sad. Sad for Bob of course because he is more than likely no longer here. And very sad for Fontelle who appears to have truly loved and cared for Bob without any concern of his "millionaire" status. The "Disappeared" program is revealing because the daughters aren't teary eyed and apparently don't have any concern about their father's mysterious vanishing. The daughter's sound like they're discussing a pet that's wandered off. And I don't believe for one second that the daughter's did not inquire into Fontelle's position in regards to their father's estate. Calling her a "gold digger" and that Fontelle's prime motivation was to get her hands on Bob's money. Yet Fontelle knew Bob had not yet changed his will and bank accounts to add Fontelle. The detectives interviewed in the program claims that no one in the family, including the son-in-law are not suspects. The female detective claims that it doesn't make sense for Josie to get rid of Bob because he was the "goose that laid the golden egg". However, if she is a detective with any common sense she must have been involved in many cases where people murder someone who was generous towards them? Human beings are not always smart or practical nor do they always commit rational acts. I still feel it's someone in the family. If you notice out of all the family members interviewed, when speaking about Bob his daughters do not show any emotion. Fontelle's voice becomes strained, sounding like she's holding back tears. AND even Bob's housekeeper gets teary eyed many times during her interview. Only Fontelle and Agnes (the housekeeper) show any sincere concern.

I'd be investigating the daughter and her husband more closely. That vid gave me shivers.
I live in Australia and have only just watched Bobs episode of Disappeared 10 minutes ago and it has me intrigued. I will be keeping up to date with the progress of this case as I'm almost 100% sure someone in that family has something to do with his disappearance. My thoughts are with his wife. -

Just recently watched the Disappeared episode and I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that his daughters had something to do with this!
The interviews that the daughter did seem a bit rehearsed. She keeps repeating the same phrases over and over while avoiding direct eye contact with the camera or appealing for her father's safe return.
Doesn't anyone else think its a bit strange that no one has seen Bob since he and his daughters had an admittedly 'heated' family meeting over his money the day prior to his disappearance?
Fontelle was 1,500 miles away when Bob disappeared, how could she have anything to do with it? His daughters, however, were in his home after seeking legal action against the poor man so they could get their greedy hands on his money. It also seems a tad strange that the last person to 'see Bob alive' happens to be the husband of one of the daughters 'repairing' the house, and who was 'shocked' to see the house keeper there a day early as she and Bob had planned.
And why did his daughter's consult an attorney about Fontelle's rights so soon after his disappearance? They obviously know something other people don't about where Bob is. -
The daughter's behavior is unique. I will give you that, but that is all I can say. It's nothing conclusive.
I don't believe in psychics, personally.

What about a good psychic? One like Long Island Medium Theresa Caputo. She will get a reading right away from him if he is no longer here. She is on FB too. Prayers and thoughts always with family. Also, is he listed with the Missing Website?

I am again watching the show about Bob's disappearance and how it seems to point in the direction that people think that Fontelle had something to do with it. I disagree with her having anything to do with it since I am almost certain even in their phone conversations before being married, people generally do not say oh by the way I am worth millions. I got more of the feeling like he had no clue as to how much he actually had.
People are way too fast at fighting over whose fault it is because money that would have been left to whom and how much and who they thought should not have anything. Money can do evil things to people's minds. Everyone needs to forget the money and focus on the one important thing finding Bob.
Did everyone have polygraph tests, even though they are not always allowed in court but will show if someone is not telling the truth. I do agree though with all said that I think it was someone that he knew and trusted that helped him to disappear. How about the cleaning woman and her family? The son in law who was doing work on the house and the last one to see him. It is not odd that he visited the folks by the beach because even if he did not drive the highway maybe Fontelle drove. Perhaps a long shot but he somehow boarded a plane or train attempting to go back to Mo to escort his new bride back home and got stuck there and became forgetful how he got there or where he was. After all Fontelle would not have known he was coming if he wanted to surprise her and I have known people who take a one day trip there and back to places. Long shot but maybe worth checking out.
Police since they are still not ruling anyone out, should give all in depth interviews and also lie detector tests. If there is nothing to fear then no problems. Stop having so animosity against Fontelle as there is no proof she did anything and if anyone is so nuts about the money it is the kids. I have to say I am glad at this point in time I have nothing much so my kids wont fight but go back and look at everyone in his life past and present that know anything about his fortune and give them the interviews.
I hope they find him and can put closure to all of this. Remember out parents did not have us so that we can fight and argue and become greedy with things they worked hard for in life.

Just watched this, though it was very interesting. I don't think that Fontelle had anything to do with this. But the daughters... maybe? I'm still not sure. But I am disgusted with them for demanding all that information about him from the trust that he set up for them. It just seemed kinda greedy and classless to want to know exactly what they would be getting after he died as soon as their mother died and they found out about it.

So sorry, there are just two other tiny clips, from two days after Bob disappeared. Julie has declined all media requests since then, and sadly didn't participate in the Disappeared episode either. Her husband has never spoken to media.
Is it possible Julie is showing signs of shock which could have confused her, rather than denial? It is just that on the day the first interview took place, Julie posted on her community forum, RimoftheWorld that her father had been 'missing approx. 28 hours ago' and 'We suspect foul play'. That would have put Bob's disappearance at 10am, but in the TV interview the same day she states he went missing at maybe 1, noon?
Here are the clips from two days after Bob disappeared anyway, just in case there is anything you can glean from them. Many thanks for your response, and helping highlight Bob's still missing status on such a popular website.

I didn't see the show on Discovery ID. The daughter's behavior doesn't flag me because he's only been missing in that video for one day. She could be hopeful, in a form of denial, etc. If you have other video of her, please post. Thanks!
